Thanks for the feedback and for those of you who bought my novellas, thank you!!!!! Page count is always in the back of my mind. I write the short ones to get stuff out there while I work on a longer book. Give the next one a try. It's At His Mercy from Liquid Silver Books. I believe it turned out to be 30k words. A 70k, full length is coming soon! Thanks again, Tierney

Word vs page count is an interesting focus for readers...if you are looking to make your money go as far as possible, then it will only ever make sense to purchase the "novel" size or 45k plus.

As a writer I never ever look at page count, only word count and write in the most basic of formats [times 10pt single space and 1" margins]. The main reason the page number does not matter that much is because most epublishers are using an 8x10 "page" not one that would resemble a mass market paperback or even a trade paperback.

As for fiddling with margins, font size and line spacing, every epublisher has their own formula on what looks better on the ereader.

Glad you gave the Confessions a try though - good bang for the buck and a half I hope :-)

Tilly - I really did enjoy it! I went and got Tierney's earlier story, Sinful Touches and that was good, too, although I was very disappointed with the page count. Only 55 pages for $4.00! Maybe I'm spoiled because EC's quickies at $2.99 are more pages that that!

Karen - I feel you. We don't know the page count beforehand, at least not in numbers. Jay mentioned in another post I had that books are charged by word count, not necessarily page length and I guess if a publisher formats a certain way, double spaced big font, they could make the pages seem more then they are.

I was disappointed with the page count on Sinful Touch. I know I read fast, but damn, I was just getting into the story and it was done!

I just can't fathom out a book that only has 11 pages. Obviously I'm a snob when it comes to Venus Press, but that aside, 11 pages? I couldn't bring myself to buy. Do they tell people before hand how many pages there are per book?
