Pictures of the RT 2006 Convention
Dear Readers,
Yes, I’m a little late on this one, but better late than never, right?
I wasn’t able to attend this year’s RT Convention, and given the astronomical amount it costs to go, I’m not sure if I’ll ever attend one, but I love to see the pictures and put faces to names. Of course, Joy of Joyfully Reviewed was on top of her picture game! She has tons of great photos. My favorite one is of Dakota Cassidy giving Joy the tongue .Go check them out:

Oh, and apparently Cheryl Holt named herself the reigning queen of erotic romance. Hmm, I feel a little miseducated since I’ve never read any of her books, is she really that popular?

Er, not that I know of. She had some ‘buzz’ a couple of years/releases ago, but her last couple of books haven’t generated a lot of online word of mouth and/or reviews. *But* maybe Walmart can’t keep her books on the shelf for all i know. ::shrug:: I think peeps like Emma Holly, Robin Schone (even though she hasn’t released anything in a while) have more a claim to that crown.

I agree. Funny thing was, she was sitting next to Emma Holly as she made her claim. I’d love to have mind reading powers to know what Ms. Holly thought of that.

Let me put it this way, while I did enjoy Ms. Holt’s first book (it’s on the keeper shelf… the second one might be there too) if exclamation points were dildoes, then, yeah, she deserves the crown. Hands down. ;-)

Well gee. Can’t say I agree with Ms Holt. I’ve read Emma Holly and she’s damned hot. I haven’t read Cheryl Holt, but then she hasn’t been recommended to me and neither have the covers/blurbs appealed enough for me to read one.
As I’m a regular erotic romance reader, with many friends who read the same kinds of books, I frequently receive recommendations. So, to not have received even one for an established author such as Ms Holt makes me thing she can’t be anywhere near as good or as hot as Emma Holly!

I had the privilege of signing a tote bag at RT that the lovely Ms. Holt had signed as well, and much to my amusement she signed it Cheryl Holt, Queen of Erotic Romance. I have to say, it took me back, because I think she was completely serious. I must have missed the crowning because last time I checked there were many authors writing erotic romance long before she had. But since apparently people are giving out titles I’ve decided to crown myself, Lena Matthews, Sexual Chocolate.

You should have seen us at RT during the Heather Graham party. She does this skit every year and sings. All through it, we kept saying. Sexual Chocolate, damn that boy can sing. He’s good. Uh huh, good and terrible. LOL
